Dear Housing

Firstly your office did the wrong thing and damaged me immensely when you refused to allow me to transfer to unit 16/69 Alice street Biggenden which has put my health and mental health on a backward decline.

The actions taken by your department were disgusting and were a major reason for me to undergo psychological assistance after being suicidal from your wrong actions.

Richard Crowe was given that unit as a single person, after he didn’t even have Biggenden on his list in a real kick to the teeth for me after being forced to go through hoops to add people to my lease that I did not want in my home at the time. You put me in a dangerous situation.

I am writing to decline your offer of 1/17 Nette st for the following reasons.

1, It has no air conditioning. This is Biggenden where the temperatures regularly reach over 40 degrees in summer. I have to have air conditioning as with my medical issues I have no temperature control. I have been inside the unit in nette st during the heat of the day and had to leave straight away as my body started to react to the high stuffy temperatures inside the unit.

I cannot take the air conditioning unit from this unit as was suggested by your staff because the air con here is attached and fitted into the building and the cost to move it would be high and damaging to the unit here. I feel the staff member gave me incorrect information.

After your actions regarding my application for transfer over the unit in Alice street I cannot be put once again in a severely disadvantaged and at risk situation.

2,Nette st has no washing machine and clothes dryer. I gave my own washing machine and clothes dryer to richard crowe in unit 16 when he moved in as he did not have any. I cannot go and just take them back from him and I have no money to buy a new washing machine and clothes dryer. With my allergies I must have a clothes dryer to dry my clothes out of the way of the various pollens and grasses I am allergic to.

3, Allergies – I have severe allergies and am on regular medication and steroids to lessen my reactions. One of my major allergies is to cows and the unit is less than 100 metres from the cattle yards and the showground. I am also allergic to a vine that is at the back door in the neighbours yard.

When there is a cattle sale, even here in Alice street I get bad reactions and cannot go anywhere near the sale yards.

4, Moving costs will be well over 2000 dollars which I do not have to hire a truck to move and people to do the work.

5, Claustrophobia – the unit gives me claustrophobia and triggers my extreme anxiety and depression

6, Alice street is next to the hospital and ambulance station and is an aged care facility which suits my extreme medical needs.

7, I know all my neighbours here and if there is a situation that I am in danger I have help here from my neighbours.

8, Stress. Just the thought of having to move somewhere else other than Alice Street is extremely stressful and has triggered severe anxiety and depression.

Due to these reasons I have to decline for health, mental health and financial reasons and I will wait until a two bedroom unit becomes available at Alice Street Complex.

I have tried to hand the keys back to Childers to find they closed 5 minutes before I got there on the 23rd and they were closed on the 28th when I went again to return the keys.

I am sending the keys back by Australia post to you as I am not sure if I can get to Childers on the 8th when they reopen as my car is not currently registered due to financial constraints.
